IS THE "SCEPTICAL" MOVEMENT REALLY SCEPTIC?
J. Randi's foundation "CSI" call ACSH a "skeptical resource" but ACSH is an industry front group, which sells advertisments for companies that "donate" money to them.
Leading figures in the CSI are associated with ACSH (other leaders in "skeptic" movement are also linked to ACSH(See the links bellow)), and local "skeptical" organizations designated as "skeptical" organizations "of CSI is dedicated to follow CSIs "business description", which among others is to fight everything that bothers pharmaceutical companies' sales..
Therefore, the "skeptic" movement too act as an industry front group, although members do BELIEVE that their activities are skeptical (though the activities are mostly "reputation destruction"), and they wonder usually not how it is that "skepticism" is so selective. Of course some people recognize that it is a scam and leave the movement.
